what a weekend....

well my weekend was truly taken over by cupcakes! i was supposed to start baking at around 11am on Saturday but due to oven issues and sleeping in issues i didnt start till around 4.30pm... needless to say it kind of snowballed from there.. leading to a bed time of 3am with an unwelcome alarm at 6am to finish off putting caramel corn manes on the lion cupcakes and get to the market by 7.30am!

had heaps of fun and saw a few people from the facebook group (special prices for them of course :P ) which was great!

we sold quite a lot of cakes to the people that came but to be honest the market was a bit lame! there was only a handful of stalls and consquenstly not much foot traffic! i took the rest to work this morning and they went like hot cakes! so next plan of attack is more planning and a better market! i will have to go to a few first to really get a guage on how many cakes to make in regards to how many stalls and people they have markets! someone suggested a market in grey lynn so may have to check that out....

thought my stall looked quite cute with heaps of different retro plates and little cups .... heres a few pics from the day

my first shot at mini cupcakes... they were a huge hit and my fatest seller! brownie flavour, vanilla with choc icing, carrot and vanilla with orange icing... yum!
